2,000 yellow rubber ducks will race along No Name creek in beautiful Meinig Memorial Park.

Here are some highlights from last years derby.

THE SANDY MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL /SANDY KIWANIS
DUCKY DERBY RULES:

  1. All ducks entered are provided by the Presenter and shall remain the property of the Presenter.
  2. A maximum of 2000 ducks will be entered into the event.
  3. A number is attached to each duck corresponding to the number on your “adopt a duck” ticket. Multiple entries will be assigned additional numbers for identification. An official roster of duck numbers and purchasers will be posted at the event. Adoption forms can be downloaded at www.sandymountainfestival.org.
  4. Duck races will be launched at 4pm on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Meinig Memorial Park in Sandy, Oregon.
  5. Once the ducks are launched, they are on their own. No attempt to free or interfere with any duck is permitted, unless deemed necessary by the Pondmaster and his/her designees.
  6. Winners will be chosen from random netting at finish line. Winning numbers will be announced and posted at the event. Winners need not be present. Positive identification will be required to claim any prize(s) won.
  7. At the sole discretion of the Sandy Mountain Festival, we reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Any taxes and fees are the responsibility of the winner.
  8. By entering, the entrants release the sponsors, the beneficiary, its officers, directors, volunteers, staff and other related entities from any and all liability with respect to prizes.
  9. By entering, winners consent to the promotional use of their names and likenesses without additional compensation.
  10. Must be 18 years of age or older to adopt-a-duck.

All decisions and interpretations of any rules and/or regulations will be made by the Sandy Mountain Festival and Sandy Kiwanis, and its judgment is final.
